The Hanomag.

Vond dit oude Hanomag vrachtwagen langs de openbare straat. Betwijfel wel of het nog kan rijden. Het kostte me ongeveer een uur om een ​​foto van te maken aangezien het niet zo'n mooi weer was. Veel regen en donkere wolken.

Ik moest een HDR te maken, want het was gewoon te donker om een mooie heldere foto van te maken. Daarna duurde het thuis nog aantal uren werken met Photoshop tot ik tevreden was. Ben er uiteindelijk wel tevreden over.

Ik ben geen auto of vrachtwagen expert dus ik moest het opzoeken op het net en ik denk dat het een Hanomag AL-28.

Found this old Hanomag truck standing along the public street. Doubt it can ride though. It cost me about an hour to make a photo of it as it wasn't such pleasant weather. Lot's of rain and clouds.

I had to make a HDR because it was simply to dark to make a decent image. Then it took quite at time at home with Photoshop until I was satisfied. Think it's ok. 

I am no car or truck expert I had to look it up on the net and I think it's a Hanomag AL-28.

HDR High Dynamic Range

Omschrijving HDR High Dynamic Range

HDR is een techniek die tegenwoordig veel in de fotografie gebruikt wordt. Hierbij combineer je meerdere foto's met verschillende belichtingen tot een foto die zowel in de donkere partijen als in de lichte partijen nog detail bevat. Dit is vooral handig bij foto's die gemaakt worden in moeilijke lichtomstandigheden. Met de techniek kun je je foto er ook dramatischer uit laten zien. Veel (amateur)fotografen zijn op het moment aan het stoeien om met deze techniek tot een mooie foto te komen en deze techniek is ingebouwd in Photoshop CS3. Dit is het enige Nederlandstalige boek over dit onderwerp.

New image. This time a palace somewhere in the vicinity of Dresden, Germany.

Once again an experiment with qtpfsgui HDR and Photoshop CS4. In detail, the image is composed of a 3 image exposure shot (exposure bracketing). I made two versions of the image in qtpfsgui, the first Mantiuk and the second Fattal. In Photoshop I placed the Mantiuk version on a layer and on top of that a new layer with the Fattal version.  The Fattal was a "Soft Light" layer. Then I only tweaked the image with Levels and Curves. It may not be my best image but it was fun experimenting. Click on the image for a larger view.

Testing tonemapping on my car. The nice thing about this is that it is not a real HDR image but only a tonemapped image. The software I used for this was Bibble 5, qtpfsgui and Photoshop CS4. Oh, and by the way Photoshop is running on Linux thanks to Wine.
